Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin

Acne can be painful and depressing. Many teenagers as well as adults suffer from problems with an acne prone skin. It feels really depressing if you have to attend a party and you have to face problems with an acne breakout then. However, there are several treatments for acne and a good skin care is very important to maintain a blemish-free skin. Acne can go bad if you do not follow your regular routine of cleansing and keeping your pores clear by removing the excess oil. You ay like to use a moisturizer for acne prone skin or simply follow some natural recipe to keep your skin fresh and clean.

Cleansing is a very important regime of a skin that is prone to acne breakouts. It is not advisable to use a moisturizer for acne prone skin before you clean it. Cleanse your face properly using your fingertips. When you cleanse your face, also rub your neck, your jaw line and in front of and behind your ears. Always use a gentle foaming cleanser. For those who have inflamed breakouts, they can use a benzoyl peroxide based cleanser. Always do a double wash and rinse well with lots of water. Water is a good hydrant for the skin.

Once cleansing is over, apply a toner. It is not yet time to apply moisturizer for acne prone skin. Before the moisturizer it is necessary that you apply a toner. Use a cotton ball and gently apply the toner smoothening it all over the face. This helps remove any left over makeup or residue dirt or any excess oil on the skin. It is best that you choose an alcohol-free toner if you have an overly dry skin. Alcohol has a drying effect and can further dry your skin and can irritate your skin further. Once your toner has completely dried, you can apply your treatment creams as prescribed by your physician. It could also be an over-the-counter gel or cream that you purchased for your acne. Let the medication be absorbed completely before your follow the next step.
